Dark Oriental Marinade
This oriental marinade recipe is easy to prepare and can be used in all kinds of barbecue recipes.
Marinade Ingredients
For this Oriental Marinade recipe you need the following ingredients:
| 2 cups |
| 1 cup |
| 3 teaspoons |
| 4 tablespoons |
| Chinese Rice Wine (or, alternatively, Sherry) |
| Soy Sauce (salted) |
| Chinese Five Spice Powder |
| Brown Sugar
(or whatever kind of sugar you've got) |
The above quantities will yield 3 cups of oriental marinade, which should be enough to marinate 6 - 8 pounds of meat.
Marinade Preparation
Put all ingredients in a sealable non-reactive bowl, plastic container or "zip-lok" bag, and add the meat.
Marinate the meat for at least a couple of hours, but prefereably overnight. Turn the meat frequently to ensure even cover by the marinade.
The PitMaster Suggests
This wonderful oriental dark marinade works out very well on pork or on veal spare ribs.
Glazed Oriental Veal Spare Ribs
These hot smoked and glazed Oriental Veal Ribs are spicey sweet and smokey.
Even if veal ribs are much leaner than pork ribs, and even if I cook them
until they "fall off the bone", these slow food ribs will still remain very juicy.
